The Texans have placed 25-year old linebacker Jesse Nading on the Injured Reserve List ending his season with a knee injury.  Nading played in 5 games for the Texans this season and he had 10 tackles, 1/2 a sack and 1 pass defensed.  He has now played in 11 games in his first two years with the Texans and he has 16 tackles, 1 pass defensed and 1/2 a sack.  The Texans won’t miss Nading too much.

The Houston Texans have placed Carl Paymah on I.R.

Blogged under Bloglockers,Breaking News,Front Page,General,Injury Reports by admin on Monday 15 November 2010 at 1:56 pm

The Houston Texans have placed 27-year old cornerback Carl Paymah on the Injured Reserve List due to a wrist injury.  Paymah played in 2 games for the Texans this year and he had 2 tackles.  He has now played in 74 games in his NFL career and he has 130 tackles, 14 passes defensed, 1 forced fumble and 3 interceptions.  Paymah’s loss shouldn’t hurt the Texans too bad despite their awful pass defense as he wasn’t too good himself.

The Houston Texans lose linebacker Demeco Ryans for the rest of the season

Blogged under Bloglockers,Breaking News,Front Page,General,Injury Reports by admin on Tuesday 19 October 2010 at 2:55 pm

The Texans have lost 26-year old linebacker DeMeco Ryans for the rest of the season due to a torn Achillies tendon.  This is a big blow to the Texans already porous defensed as Ryans is the best defensive player on the team.  Ryans played in 6 games for the Texans this year and he had 54 tackles, 1 tackle for a loss, 1 sack and 2 passes defensed.  He has now played in 70 games in his five years with the Texans and he has 573 tackles, 21 passes defensed, 8.5 sacks, 5 forced fumbles and 2 interceptions.  Ryans is impossible for the Texans to replace.

The Houston Texans lose Kevin Bentley for a while

Blogged under Bloglockers,Breaking News,Front Page,General,Injury Reports by admin on Wednesday 29 September 2010 at 2:19 pm

The Texans will be without 30-year old linebacker indefinitely due to knee surgery which he had earlier today.  Bentley has played in the Texans first 3 games this year and he has 3 tackles.  Bentley has now played in 35 games in his three years with the Texans and he has 81 tackles, 1 pass defensed and 1 sack.  The Texans hope that Bentley returns soon because the depth at linebacker is really hurt without him around.

The Houston Texans lose Connor Barwin for the year

Blogged under Bloglockers,Breaking News,Front Page,General,Injury Reports by admin on Tuesday 14 September 2010 at 9:03 pm

The Texans have lost DE Connor Barwin for the season as he dislocated his ankle against the Colts.  His injury will require surgery and he has been placed on the Injured Reserve List.  Antonio Smith will likely see a bump in P.T. with Barwin done for the year.  Smith had 1 tackle, 1/2 a sack and he defensed 1 pass against the Colts on Sunday.  The Texans will be looking to sign some help at DE with Barwin done for the year.

The Houston Texans place Andre Davis on I.R.

Blogged under Bloglockers,Breaking News,Front Page,General,Injury Reports by admin on Saturday 4 September 2010 at 10:50 am

The Texans have placed 31-year old WR/KR Andre Davis on the Injured Reserve List with a tailbone/hip injury.  Davis played in 14 games (1 start) for the Texans last season and he caught 6 passes for 59 yards (9.8 avg).  He also returned 33 kickoffs for 782 yards (23.7 avg) for the Texans last year.  Davis has now played in 40 games (9 starts) in his career with the Texans and he has caught 52 passes for 855 yards (16.4 avg) with 3 TD grabs.  He has also returned 108 kickoffs for 2,743 yards (25.4 avg) with 3 TD returns in his career with the Texans.

The Houston Texans waive Jeremiah Johnson

Blogged under Bloglockers,Breaking News,Front Page,General,Injury Reports,Leaving Town by admin on Saturday 4 September 2010 at 10:42 am

The Texans have waived 23-year old RB Jeremiah Johnson as he has a dislocated toe that will cause him to miss at least 1 month.  The Texans are working on a injury settlement with Johnson so that they can sign him to the practice squad.  Johnson looked pretty good in the pre-season for the Texans.  He played in 4 games over the pre-season for the Texans and he carried the ball 19 times for 107 yards (5.6 ypc).  He also caught 1 pass for 6 yards.  Due to his injury the Texans should have little problem signing him to the practice squad.

The Houston Texans place Anthony Hill on the reserve/PUP list

Blogged under Bloglockers,Breaking News,Front Page,General,Injury Reports by admin on Saturday 4 September 2010 at 10:34 am

The Texans have placed 25-year old TE Anthony Hill on the reserve/PUP list with a knee problem.  That means that Hill won’t be elgible to play until week #7 for the Texans.  Hill played in 5 games (0 starts) for the Texans last season and he caught 1 pass for 9 yards.  Hill won’t be missed too much by the Texans while he is out of action as they have a lot of depth at TE.

The Houston Texans lose Trindon Holliday for a while

Blogged under Bloglockers,Breaking News,Draft Results,Front Page,General,Injury Reports by admin on Wednesday 25 August 2010 at 8:46 am

The Texans used a sixth round pick last April on Trindon Holliday with the idea that he would replace Jacoby Jones on punt returns and Andre Davis on kickoff returns so that they could both concentrate on offense.  Well, even the best laid plans don’t come to fruition all of the time and this is one of those cases.  Holliday will undergo surgery today to repair ligament damage in his right thumb which will cause him to miss most if not all of his rookie season.  Holliday returned 3 punts for 1 yard (0.3 avg) and 5 kickoffs for 114 yards (22.8 avg) during the pre-season for the Texans.

UPDATE:  (8/31/2010) – The Texans have placed Trindon Holliday on the Injured Reserve List ending his rookie season.

The Houston Texans place Tim Bulman on I.R.

Blogged under Bloglockers,Breaking News,Front Page,General,Injury Reports by admin on Tuesday 17 August 2010 at 4:39 pm

The Texans have placed defensive lineman Tim Bulman on the Injured Reserve List with a shoulder injury.  Bulman played in 15 games (1 start) for the Texans last season and he had 18 tackles and 1 pass defensed.  He has now played in 39 games (2 starts) in five years in the NFL and he has 45 tackles, 4 sacks and 2 passes defensed.  The Texans likely won’t miss Bulman too much as he was pretty far down the depth chart for 2010.
