The Houston Texans have lost rookie RB Ben Tate for the year

The Texans have lost rookie 2nd round pick Ben Tate for the season as he will undergo ankle surgery tomorrow.  Tate carried the ball 2 times for 7 yards (3.5 ypc) and he caught 1 pass for 5 yards in the Texans’ pre-season opener.  It’s back to the drawing board for the Texans as they will be leaning on Arian Foster and Steve Slaton in the running game once again in 2010.

The loss of Ben Tate is huge for the Texans this season. Slaton has not shown himself to be a strong runner. He’s fast but no power to speak of. I can only hope that Foster will improve quickly and develope into a strong runner who can be equal too if not better than Tate. This team has the talent to be in the playoffs this year as long as we play up to our capabilites every game and don’t take any team for granted. We have to play every game as if it is the Super Bowl. If we do, we just might get there. Kubiak is a great coach and now he has the talent to take him to the top.

Do me a huge favor this time around in the draft coach. Please take a high draft pick quarterback or trade somehow for a really good one. Obviously we need a good back up for Shaub. Orlanski did not look good at all in the pre-season game with the Cards. Booty doesn’t seem to have it either. God willing they will improve, but we really need some good back-ups.
