The Houston Texans place CB Jimmy Williams on I.R.
The Houston Texans have placed cornerback Jimmy Williams on Injured Reserve ending his season due to a knee injury. Williams also didn’t play last season because of his bum knee which could signal the end of his playing days soon. The 29-year old Williams has played in 80 games (7 starts) in his NFL career and he has made 134 tackles, has 1 sack, has defensed 10 passes and intercepted 3. The Texans have re-signed CB Dexter Wynn to replace Williams in the defensive backfield. He played in 8 games for the Texans last season and he made 6 tackles and defended 4 passes. Don’t expect Wynn to get much playing time unless some DBs in front of him go down to injury. Wynn has now played in 45 games in his NFL career and he has made 51 tackles, has 1 sack and he has defensed 13 passes.

It’s said to see a player struggle so much with one nagging injury. This shouldn’t have much impact on the Texans’ season, but man what a bad break for Williams.
It is a big shame for Williams as this could be the beginning of the end for his NFL career. You are right though, the Texans weren’t depending on him too much.
