Opportunistic defense wins game for Texans 23-14 over Raiders

The Raiders just kept giving the Texans good field position and the Texans made them pay.  DeMarcus Faggins returned a fumble recovery 58 yards for a TD to open the scoring for the Texans.  In the second half, the Texans out-scored the Raiders 16-0!  Rookie LE DeMeco Ryans had a fantastic game with 13 tackles, a fumble recovery, 2 passes defensed and an interception.  Morlon Greenwood added 9 tackles and a fumble recovery.  The Raiders did move the ball fairly well, but the Texans kept forcing them to make mistakes.  The Raiders carried the ball 26 times for 113 yards (4.3 ypc).  The Raiders also completed 25 of 42 passes for 189 net yards passing.

The Texans had a horrible game on offense.  David Carr completed 7 of 14 passes for 32 yards.  Ron Dayne had a good game with 18 carries for 95 yards (5.3 ypc).  Wali Lundy carried the ball 9 times for 33 yards (3.7 ypc) and a TD.

Houston Texans vs. Oakland Raiders

The Texans have lost 4 of their last five games.  The Raiders have lost 4 in a row, but the last three only by a combined 15 points.

The Texans will run the football with Wali Lundy and Samkon Gado against the porous Raiders run defense that is allowing 133.1 yards rushing per game and 4.1 yards per carry this season.  As long as the O-Line gives David Carr time to throw, he will put up some numbers.  Andre Johnson (84 rec, 982 yards) and Eric Moulds could have big games.

The Raiders would like to run the football against the Texans with Justin Fargas.  The Texans are soft on run defense as they have allowed 116.3 yards rushing 4.2 yards per carry so far this season.  This could be a huge game for Aaron Brooks and Randy Moss as the Texans allow 231.5 net yards passing per game.

This should be a close football game, but for some reason I think the Raiders are going to win the game at home.
