Houston Texans vs. Buffalo Bills

These two teams are pretty evenly matched as they both have bad offenses & defenses.  The Bills are coming off of a great effort in a losing cause against the Colts.  The Texans just finished their sweep of the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Look for the Bills to come into this game with the same plan they always do….to run the football.  The A-Train (Anthony Thomas) went over 100 yards rushing last week against the Colts and he should have success again against a Texans defense that allows 131.3 yards rushing per game and 4.6 yards per carry.  Look for the Bills to let Losman try to go deep a few times to Lee Evans (44 rec, 557 yards) because of the Texans weak secondary.  The Texans allow 215.1 yards passing per game and allow the opposing QB to have a rating of 90.8 against them.

The Texans will also look to run the ball early to set up their passing game.  Look for Samkon Gado and Wali Lundy to test out the Bills defense that is allowing 121.3 yards rushing per game and 4.3 yards per carry.  If David Carr’s bruised shoulder is up to it, look for the Texans to challenge the Bills CBs deep.  Andre Johnson (68 rec, 808 yards) and Eric Moulds (who wants to stick it to his old team) should be able to get open, especially whoever Terrance McGee is covering.

I think I will have to side with the Texans in a close game.  The Texans have the better QB and they’re at home.
