Texans vs. Titans

Blogged under Bloglockers,Current Weeks Matchup,Front Page by ravenhater on Wednesday 25 October 2006 at 11:47 am

This is a game that pits two young teams that each won their last football game and are starting to come together.

Texans fans would love nothing more than for their team to beat the team that was STOLEN from them!   The Texans running game finally showed life last week against a tough Jaguars defense and they should have alot of success running against the “Super Soft” Titans run defense.  The Titans allow 164.5 yards rushing per game and 4.7 yards per carry!  Rookie RB Wali Lundy (150 rushing yards, 4.2 ypc) will get first shot against the Titans run defense.  Samkon Gado also looks like he’s ready to produce after having a decent game last week.  The Texans should have no problem throwing the ball against the Titans defense which allows a 94.1 opponents QB rating.  Look for David Carr (1,217 yards passing) to attack the Titans with Andre Johnson (47 rec, 591 yards) and Eric Moulds (25 rec, 290 yards).

The Titans will look to continue with what’s been working for them on offense, which is running the football.  Travis Henry (383 yards rushing, 4.7 ypc) will get the bulk of the carries against a Texans defense that allows 138.5 yards rushing per game and 4.5 yards per carry.  QB Vince Young (512 yards passing, 56.5 QB rating) is not ready to attack the Texans secondary which allows 247.2 yards and 66% completions.

This should be a great game to watch, but I have a feeling the Texans are the better team.

    Texans vs. Titans reply
i agree with you 100%. I would like to add a little caution. The texans must not turn the ball over & should be @ peak performance. Lets not forget the effort the Titans gave againts the colts a couple of weeks ago. Having Peak, faggins & wong back doesnt hurt a bit. TEXANS FOREVER NO MATTER WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If the game comes down to the QBs, I have way more faith in David Carr to make the big play than Vince Young. The Texans know the Titans want to run the ball every down, so they should put 8 in the box and dare Vince Young to beat them with his arm.
