Texans look good on offense, bad on defense in 27-20 win over Rams
First the good news. The offense rolled up 327 yards despite only having possession of the ball for 23:19 of the game. The Texans unleashed a powerful running game led by Vernand Morency who carried the ball 11 times for 95 yards and 2 TDs, and caught 3 passes for 19 yards. Wali Lundy carried the ball 7 times for 40 yards and caught 2 passes for 26 yards.
David Carr completed 10 of 17 passes for 99 yards. Sage Rosenfels completed 6 of 9 passes for 99 yards and a TD. Andre Johnson was the leading receiver catching 4 passes for 38 yards.
The defense couldn’t get off the field as the Rams used a ball-control passing attack to play keep-away. The Rams completed 28 of 45 passes for a net of 298 yards passing. The Texans did good against the run holding the Rams to 61 yards rushing on 27 carries.
